Yo! Basecamp -- Get expert rock climbing instruction and have the outdoor rock climbing adventure of your life on an outdoor rock climbing summer camp, a Chris Sharma summer camp, or a bouldering summer camp in the High Sierra of California, with transportation provided from the San Francisco Bay Area.

Yo! Basecamp's instructors, assistant instructors and cooks are professional and courteous, prioritizing participants' safety and comfort. All instructors are expert climbers and teachers and are certified in First Aid (at minimum).

Instructors

	Andy Puhvel, YB Co-Founder/Director, prides himself on spending part of every day of his life in nature, whether it's pulling down on rock or maintaining his home's rainwater catchment system. Students benefit from Andy's extensive climbing career (as a record-setting big-wall speed climber and crankin' boulderer) and from his appreciation of all things natural. Before founding Yo! Basecamp, he was a high school English teacher and the assistant director of a non-profit indoor climbing program for at-risk youth. Andy holds a Master's Degree in Education, a California teaching credential and a Wilderness First Responder medical certificate.
	When Lisa Coleman-Puhvel, YB Co-Founder/Director, discovered the profession of outdoor education, she was happy. She finally found a way to share her beliefs in living simply and caring for the environment. She also cranks: 5.12 sport routes, El Cap's Salathe Wall, Astroman and Denali (a.k.a. Mt. McKinley) are on her ascent list. Through teaching climbing she inspires humans to connect with nature while having a blast. Before founding Yo! Basecamp, she was an instructor for Outward Bound and a middle school English teacher. Lisa holds a Master's Degree in Education, a California teaching credential and a Wilderness First Responder medical certificate.
	For most climbers, Chris Sharma, YB Instructor, needs no introduction. But we'll give him one anyway! Winner of ESPN X-Game comps and World Cup comps, first ascensionist of the world's most difficult boulder problems and sport climbs, Chris is one heckuva climber. But beyond that, he's an amazing inspiration to all young climbers with whom he comes into contact. Chris attends at least one Yo! Basecamp session each summer for its entirety.
